Event: Alumni Community Read & Book Discussion

The alumni community read project will bring our community together by reading and discussing the same book.

The book for this event is “How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen is authored by David Brooks, a renowned writer and commentator known for his insightful analyses of human behavior and society. It is a heartfelt guide to building deeper human connections. Through practical insights and engaging stories, Brooks explores the art of truly seeing and understanding others to foster empathy, trust, and authentic relationships in all areas of life. The first 15 people to sign up can opt to receive a copy of the book, for the read.

The reading period will be January 20, 2025-February 17, 2025 with a facilitated group discussion taking place on March 3, 2025. The group discussion will be hybrid – we will host an in-person option on campus and an online option for those who are not local.

The discussion will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. MST. For those attending in-person, we will provide a light dinner and beverages immediately following the discussion.
